Which OWD Foods Should You Feed to Your Flock?

Our gourmet "handmade" grain-free formula is also gently dehydrated under 110 degrees. We suggest feeding 25% to no more than 45% fresh food with every meal with our handmade formulas.

No "total and complete" food is made for birds by any company. This is because wild diet research is ongoing, and there is no way to know about all of the foods parrots take in via their wild habitat. Any company that touts "total and complete" is not fully accurate - Guaranteed Analysis is based on general research and knowledge about all parrots collectively and the absolute minimum assumed nutritional needs of any parrot species. Also, our foods are not pellets. Our foods are literally handmade and gently dehydrated at or under 110 degrees F. Pellets are processed using high heat (160 degrees F and over) that destroys the naturally occurring digestive enzymes required to absorb nutrients. Pellet processing also destroys most of the water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins - this is why synthetic vitamins are added back in via spraying the pellets with (usually) low-grade (and possibly hydrogenated) oils atop the pellets after heat processing. 

By law, we are NOT required to provide the GA (guaranteed analysis) because we do not make any claims regarding "total and complete diet" or how any of our items can or will improve the health of your bird(s). Those foods that do indicate the GA are only voluntary for the convenience of our customers.
